Hi All,
A resounding victory on Friday night against Cornwall paved the way for the HNCC Reynard Premiers to go straight into the T20 final this Sunday afternoon. Batting first once again Brad Schmulian provided a masterclass as he stroked 87 off only 64 balls to propel us to 166/5 off our 20 overs after a brilliant second wicket partnership of 101 between Brad and Will Clark (43 off 30). Cornwall struggled from the outset and at 62 – 5 were never in the hunt as they fell 40 odd runs short with Peter Marrfy (4 – 21) and JP (3 -33) both in the wickets in a great bowling effort. An excellent team performance and if we can produce something similar in the final anything is possible guys!!.
The HNCC Reynard Division 2 side took on the Lindisfarne 2nd XI and came up a bit short in a good game of cricket. Batting first veteran Derek Morrison (56) and Zac Burlace (81) were once again in the runs to post a useful total of 188/5 off the 45 overs. Lindisfarne were too strong though and got the target only 3 down with Liam Reeves picking up a couple of wickets at the death. Keep working lads be good to reach the final at the end of the season.
The HNCC Parker Earthmover 3rds had a difficult task up against the leaders Eskview. After bowling first they really got some momentum and with ex Tech premier player Liam Mcfarland scoring a century the total of 223/6 was always going to be a struggle to achieve with only Nick Dawson (3 – 40) amongst the wickets. W Vermulean (37) provided the only highlight with the bat but we ended up a long way short. Keep the heads up guys and let’s try to finish the season strong.
