Semi Finals Time

Semi Finals Time

20 Mar 2019

Hi All,

The HNCC Reynard Premiers confirmed their finals berth on Saturday by comfortably beating Cornwall to retain the Gifford Devine bat and also meant we overtook them into 3rd on the 50 over points table in a clinical display. Batting first we scored at a good rate for the majority of the innings as Ben fair (38), captain Jono Whitley (58) and Harry Young (23) all made valuable contributions as we set a target of 236/9 off our 50 overs. We grabbed some key wickets early in the chase and Pete Marrfy (3 – 49) continued his excellent season with the ball and support from Will Clark (2 – 50), Rhythm Sharma (2 – 17) and  the ever consistent JP (2 – 36) they were all out for 175, some 50 runs short. Awesome result lads as it was important to retain the coveted bat between the clubs for the winter but also to give us momentum into Saturday. We have had an excellent season so far so let’s give it a good crack away from home and anything can happen as we have nothing to lose!!

The HNCC Reynard Division 2 side had a day to forget as they were humbled by Cornwall at home on Saturday. Batting first a dismal total of 72 was achieved with the majority of the runs scored by one player Tristan Mudaly (29) so you can imagine what the rest of the scorecard looked like!! It was never going to be a defendable total even though veteran Andy Reeves (3 – 21) did his best with the ball they had plenty of overs and wickets to spare as they romped to victory. Might pay to wipe that one from the memory and reset for your semi on Saturday guys!!
