Rained out

Rained out

19 Dec 2018

A frustrating day for the HNCC Reynard Premiers on Saturday as even after being transferred to an artificial wicket they were still not able to get a game of cricket in as the heavens opened and rain stopped play for the day with Cornwall 170/4 in the 55 over match at Flaxmere Park. A disappointing day for all as the points were shared.

The HNCC Reynard Seniors were the only other team to see any action as they comprehensively beat Napier Tech Old Boys before the rain appeared. A polished bowling performance saw them end Tech’s innings for only 110 as Sam Prescott (4 – 23) and Alex Philip (2 – 34) were amongst the wickets before the returning Chris Hicks (37) saw the team through to an easy win by 6 wickets. Excellent result lads and puts you back near the top of the table.

This week’s games:

HNCC Reynard Premiers vs NTOB at Anderson Park on Saturday in a 55 over game starting at 10.30am.

HNCC Reynard Seniors vs HBHS at HBHS from 12.45pm on Saturday.

HNCC Cape Physio Women’s vs CHB at Cornwall Park from 5.30pm on Friday night.

Not much other news with the Clubrooms open this Saturday from 4.30pm with a free BBQ for the last game before the Xmas break against the defending champions Tech so come on down for some Xmas cheer. Our CD Stag Brad Schmulian again performed well in the latest drawn match against Wellington with the top score of 49 in the first dig before backing up with 60 in the 2nd innings. The CD U -19 reps Will Clark and Joey Field are also both going well in Christchurch with some good contributions in the national tournament.
