Unfortunately we are going to have to cancel the Junior coaching today from 5.30 - 7.00pm due to the condition of the grounds after the 120 mls of rain this week.
Our Premier Men's coach met with the ground staff this morning and the senior game scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Napier and the grounds are still very wet and slippery. The artificial grass nets are also still wet and will damage our cricket balls.
With the weather forecast later this afternoon saying there could be more rain we don't want to damage the grass areas and have people sliding around. There will be no Junior coaching next Friday due to Labour weekend and the following Friday the 1st November is Blast in the Park.
Our next Friday coaching session will be on Friday 8th November from 5.30pm to 7.00pm On the 15th & 22nd November Junior coaching will be starting at 3.30pm until 4.45pm with our Premier Men playing T20 matches against Taradale and Napier Old Boys Marist at 5.00pm. The Junior Club is looking to have families have their picnic dinner at Anderson Park while watching the cricket on these two evenings and we will be fundraising by selling Waipawa Butchery Ham on the bone sandwiches and pure beef sausages.
We will also have two Junior Club raffles going and the Club bar will be open from 5pm until 8pm for everyone to enjoy a relaxing drink.
