HNCC 2nd XI vs Lindisfarne 2nd XI

9 Dec 2018

HNCC 2nd Division Reynard Health Supplies side returned to winning ways with an emphatic win at ‘The Farne’ on Saturday. From the moment they were asked to bat HNCC were in total control with an excellent opening partnership of 128 between the powerful Liam Reeves (85 off 79 balls) and the controlled Derek Morrison (88 no), who punished any wayward deliveries. D Morrison carried his bat through the innings who was well supported  towards the end of the innings by Dan Fridd (15) and Tristan Mudaly (25) with Havelock amassing an impressive 235 for 4 from their 40 overs.

Once again, the bowling of the 2nd Division side was impressively accurate from the start with the top 4 bowlers all bowling out their 8 overs at less than 3 runs per over. Two early run outs also put Lindisfarne on the back foot and they could only manage to be 65 for 3 at the half way stage of 20 overs and seemingly already out of the game. Although Lindisfarne tried to ‘up the tempo’ of their innings the bowlers kept the pressure on the home side with Guy Reeves (2 for 20), Rogan Ross (2 for 28), Sophie Pyott (1 for 27), T Mudaly (1 for 28) and Zac Burlace (1 for 20) all regularly taking wickets leaving Lindisfarne well short of the total at 149 for 9 from their 40 overs.
